TymeBank Limited is South Africa’s digital retail bank serving over 10 million customers. It operates through mobile app, mobile-friendly internet banking site and through partnership with three retail chains: Boxer, Pick n Pay and TFG. Backed by mining billionaire Patrice Motsepe, it is the first bank in the country to put its core-banking platform in the cloud. The Bank offers a range of personal and business banking services including no monthly fee transactional and savings accounts, debit and credit cards, personal loans, bulk payments, TymePOS and financial education app TymeCoach. TymeBank debit card is automatically linked to the Pick n Pay Smart Shopper program. It also offers unique savings tool GoalSave which allows customers to earn a great interest rate of up to 10 percent per annum. You can withdraw or deposit money from till points in Pick n Pay and Boxer stores using a TymeCode. You can also withdraw cash at Saswitch ATMs using your TymeBank card, but certain fees will apply. TymeBank was established in 2015 and was the first fully digital retail bank in the country. In December 2022, TymeBank completed acquisition of Retail Capital, a leading SME fintech that provides funding to small and medium-sized businesses. TymeBank is controlled by African Rainbow Capital (ARC), a fully black-owned investment company and a subsidiary of Ubuntu-Botho Investments.
