BBVA Peru: Overview

Banco BBVA Peru S.A. (previously known as BBVA Banco Continental) is the second largest lender in Peru, with more than 9 million customers and approximately 7,300 employees. It offers a full array of banking products and financial services to individuals and businesses including checking and saving accounts, salary accounts, fixed-term deposits, personal and commercial loans, microfinance for entrepreneurs, credit and debit cards, mortgage lending, life and health insurance, car insurance, investment banking, mobile and online banking, foreign currency exchange and more. The company was founded in 1951 and today operates through over 300 branches, 1,950 ATMs, and through Peru’s largest express agents network in 23 regions. It has been recognized as the best private bank in Peru by The Banker and best bank in Peru by Euromoney magazine. As of September 30, 2024, BBVA Peru reported total assets of PEN 109 billion, net loan portfolio of PEN 73.7 billion and deposits of PEN 76 billion. The Bank’s shares are traded on the Lima Stock Exchange. Banco BBVA Perú is a division of BBVA Perú Holding S.A.C., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Spain-based BBVA Group.
