BBVA USA (formerly known as BBVA Compass) was a commercial bank providing a diverse range of products and services to personal, small business, commercial and corporate customers. The company was the largest bank in Sun Belt region with a strong presence in 15 southern states from Florida to California. It employed over 10,000 people and had around 650 branches in Texas, Alabama, Arizona, California, Florida, Colorado and New Mexico. Member FDIC and an equal housing lender, it offered checking and savings accounts, debit and credit cards, mortgages, personal and car loans, home equity lines of credit, investments, online banking, mobile and ATM banking, international money transfers, merchant and payroll services, treasury management, commercial real estate services, small business administration loans, and insurance and retirement solutions. It also offered corporate and investment banking, risk management, transaction banking, fixed income sales & trading, debt advisory and debt capital markets, syndicated finance, bilateral and asset-based lending as well as global wealth services, private banking, asset management, estate planning, brokerage, and trust & fiduciary services. The company was the primary banking subsidiary of Texas-based BBVA USA Bancshares Inc, part of Spanish BBVA Group.
In 2021, Pittsburgh-based PNC Financial Services Group acquired BBVA USA Bancshares Inc including its subsidiary BBVA USA.
