Grupo Financiero Galicia S.A. (or Galicia Financial Group) is a financial services holding company offering banking, insurance, investment, asset management and securities brokerage services through its subsidiaries. It is the second largest financial institution in Argentina and the leading credit card issuer with over 14 million credit cards in circulation. The Group has around 4 million retail and corporate customers, 297 full service branches, 175 Naranja X offices and about 2,000 ATMs and self-service terminals. In 2003, it closed its international offices in London and the Cayman Islands as well as branch in New York City. As of September 30, 2024, the company reported total assets of US$23 billion, deposits of US$14 billion, net loans of US$8.8 billion and shareholder’s equity of US$4.5 billion. Grupo Financiero Galicia was incorporated in 1999 and today employs around 9,400 people. In September 2024, the Argentine Central Bank approved the acquisition of HSBC Argentina by Grupo Financiero Galicia. The Group's shares are traded on the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq Stock Market under the ticker symbol GGAL, with a market capitalization of over US$12 billion as of January 10, 2025.
