American International Group Inc (AIG), headquartered in New York City, is a leading global insurance corporation with operations in about 80 countries. The company offers a broad array of property/casualty and life insurance products, retirement solutions, index, variable and fixed annuities, mutual funds as well as institutional asset management, and other related financial services. AIG Federal Savings Bank is company’s trust-only federal thrift subsidiary. American International Group was founded on December 19, 1919 and today employs about 45,000 people. In 2018, the company acquired Validus Holdings, a major provider of reinsurance, primary insurance, and asset management services. For the year ended December 31, 2021, AIG had premiums of $31.3 billion and total revenues of $52 billion. AIG common shares are traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), with a market capitalization of $49 billion as of January 31, 2024.
