Nippon Life Insurance Company (also known as Nissay) is the largest insurer in Japan by assets and revenue. With over 35 million policies in force and 15 million customers, it operates through more than 100 branches, 1,530 sales offices, 17,495 agencies and four global representative offices in London, Frankfurt, Beijing and New York. The company was established in 1889 and today employs over 70,000 people. It operates in the United States as Nippon Life Benefits.
