Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance Ltd (RSA Insurance Group) is a British international insurer with more than 9 million customers. It provides a range of personal, commercial and specialty insurance services including home, car, pet, travel, marine, commercial property and liability insurance. RSA is one of the top 5 general insurance companies in the UK as well as has a strong presence in Ireland and operations in continental Europe and the Middle East including Bahrain, UAE, Oman and Saudi Arabia. In 2021, RSA disposed of its operations in Scandinavia (Denmark, Sweden and Norway) and Canada. The company was formed in 1996 and today employs around 5,980 people. In June 2021, RSA Insurance Group was acquired by a consortium of Tryg A/S and Intact Financial Corp. Currently, RSA is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Intact Financial Corporation. In 2024, RSA completed the sale of MORE THAN personal home & pet insurance business to Admiral Group plc, one of the leading British auto insurance companies.
