It is the second largest commercial auto insurer and the sixth largest homeowners insurer in the United States. The company was established in 1853 and today has about 33,000 employees and 15,000 independent agents and brokers across the US, Canada and the UK. For the financial year ended December 31, 2023, The Travelers reported revenue of $41 billion, net written premiums of $40 billion, total assets of $126 billion and common equity dividends of $3.93.
