Banco do Brasil S.A. is the second largest bank in Brazil in terms of total assets. It provides a comprehensive range of retail, corporate and government banking services including checking and savings accounts, multi currency accounts, time deposits, mortgage lending, consumer and rural loans, auto loans, credit and debit cards as well as life, health, property and car insurance. It also offers investment banking, pension products, fund management, international guarantees, treasury services, corporate loans (trade & structured financing), securities brokerage, mobile and online banking, money transfers, foreign exchange and more. The company employs about 87,000 people who serve over 80 million clients through approximately 4,000 traditional, digital and specialized branches distributed among 3,550 Brazilian municipalities. It also has international presence in the United States, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Japan and China. The company was established on October 12, 1808 and is the oldest bank in the country. As of September 30, 2024, Banco do Brasil had BRL 2.4 trillion (US$448 billion) in total assets, US$157 billion in customer deposits, US$180 billion in customer loans and US$33 billion in shareholders' equity. The company’s shares are traded on the Brazil Stock Exchange (B3 Brasil Bolsa Balcao) and over-the-counter (OTC) market, with a market capitalization of US$25 billion as of November 16, 2024.
