Commonwealth Bank of Australia (also known as CommBank) is the biggest consumer bank in Australia in terms of assets, deposits and number of branches and ATMs. It provides a comprehensive range of retail, business and institutional banking services including transaction and savings accounts, foreign currency accounts, term deposits, personal and home loans, credit cards, car and equipment finance, superannuation, general and life insurance, international and online banking, investments and other services. The company was established in 1911 and today has over 17.6 million customers, 830,000 shareholders and 700 branches/services centres nationwide. CommBank shares are traded on the Australian Securities Exchange, with a market capitalization of A$250 billion as of November 11, 2024.
