Franklin Resources Inc (better known as Franklin Templeton) is a California-based global investment firm providing services to institutional and retail customers and high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) around the world. With over 10,000 employees and 1,500 talented investment professionals, the company maintains more than 80 offices in over 25 countries across the North and South America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. The firm was established in 1947 by Rupert H. Johnson and is headquartered in San Mateo. In 2020, Franklin acquired Legg Mason Inc, a Baltimore-based asset management firm. In April 2022, Franklin completed acquisition of Lexington Partners L.P., a leading global manager of secondary private equity and co-investment funds. As of January 31, 2025, Franklin Templeton had total assets under management (AUM) of $1.58 trillion. The company's shares are traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the ticker symbol BEN, with a market capitalization of $11 billion at February 14, 2025.
