Alliant Credit Union, headquartered in Chicago, is the largest credit union in the state of Illinois and one of the ten largest in the nation by assets. With over 800,000 members, it offers checking, savings and individual retirement accounts, mortgages, consumer and auto loans, student loans, Visa debit and credit cards, home equity lines of credit, investments, online and mobile banking, money transfers, foreign currency exchange, life, home and auto insurance, and other financial services. The company was established in October 1935 by a small group of United Airlines employees. As of June 30, 2024, Alliant Credit Union had $20 billion in total assets, $16 billion in deposits and $1.4 billion in equity capital.
