Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU), headquartered in Vienna, Virginia, is the largest U.S. credit union by membership and total assets. It is also the largest credit union in the world. NFCU is a military financial institution offering a great service, extra-low auto rates, low fees, low charges, and loan discounts for active duty and retired military members. With more than 23,000 employees and 360 branches (including 26 international locations), it provides savings, checking and IRA accounts, certificates of deposit (CDs), consumer and mortgage lending, credit cards, new or used car loans, motorcycle, boat and recreational vehicle loans, student loans, refinancing, home equity lines of credit, debit, prepaid and gift cards, investments and financial planning, trust and estate management services, mobile and online banking, foreign exchange and small business products. It also offers life, health, dental and vision insurance as well as auto insurance through GEICO. As of June 30, 2024, Navy FCU had $178 billion in total assets, $149 billion in deposits, $129 billion in loans and $15 billion in equity capital. Navy Federal Credit Union was established in March 1933 at the end of the Great Depression. Today, Navy has more than 14 million members.
