The TCW Group Inc, headquartered in Los Angeles, California, is a global investment manager offering a wide array of asset class solutions across fixed income, emerging markets, equities, international mutual funds and alternative investments. With over 700 employees, TCW provides services to pension funds, consultants, insurance companies, financial advisors, discretionary wealth managers, banks and private investors worldwide. TCW manages one of the largest mutual fund complexes in the United States. Established by Robert Addison Day in 1971, the firm was originally known as Trust Company of the West. In 2017, Nippon Life Insurance acquired a 25% stake in TCW from Carlyle Group. As of March 2024, TCW had total assets under management (AUM) of $204 billion.
