Citizens Financial Group Inc, headquartered in Providence, is one of the oldest and largest financial institutions in the United States. It operates through an extensive network of about 1,000 branches and 3,100 ATMs under the Citizens Bank brand in 14 states including Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Michigan, Delaware, Vermont, New Jersey, Ohio, Florida and New York. The company also maintains more than 100 commercial and retail non-branch offices located in other states and the District of Columbia. Citizens Financial Group via its subsidiaries provides a full range of financial services including checking, savings and money market accounts, certificates of deposit (CDs), credit cards, home and personal loans, lines of credit, student loans, commercial lending, small business administration (SBA) loans, business mortgage and business insurance, personal life and long-term care insurance as well as retirement planning, cash management, treasury services, merchant and payroll services, asset finance, employee benefits solutions, wealth and investment management, foreign exchange, online and mobile banking, healthcare banking and more. Citizens Access is an online banking platform of the Group. In 2018, Citizens Bank acquired Franklin American Mortgage, expanding its presence into Texas and Tennessee. In February 2022, Citizens completed acquisition of 80 East Coast branches and online deposit business of HSBC USA. The common shares of Citizens Financial Group are traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), with a market capitalization of $21 billion as of February 2025. Citizens ranks among the largest banks in the US. The company was established in 1828 and today employs over 17,000 people.
