The Chilean banking system is the most stable in Latin America. It includes about 18 local and foreign banks and state-owned financial institution. The central bank of Chile (Banco Central de Chile), established in 1925, is an autonomous organization headquartered in Santiago. Banco BCI

Banco de Credito e Inversiones (Bci) is the largest bank in Chile based on total assets. It operates through approximately 200 local branches and 560 ATMs, and employs about 11,500 people. The company’s shares are listed on the Santiago Stock Exchange (SSE). Miami-based community bank City National Bank of Florida is a subsidiary of BCI Financial Group.

Santander Chile

Banco Santander Chile is one of the major banks in Chile with around 10,000 employees. It provides a comprehensive range of financial services to retail and corporate customers including deposit products, personal and business lending, government-guaranteed loans, mortgages, credit cards, mobile and online banking as well as financial advisory, wealth management, insurance, and treasury, trade and transactional services. It was named Best Bank in Chile by Euromoney, Latin Finance and The Banker.

BancoEstado

Banco del Estado de Chile (BancoEstado), a government-owned financial institution, is the third largest Chilean bank by total assets and one of the highest rated banks in Latin America. It is also the largest mortgage lender and the largest issuer of debit cards in Chile. With over 15 million customers and 16,400 employees, it maintains a network of over 500 branches and 2,600 ATMs nationwide. BancoEstado is the safest bank in Chile and Latin America according to Global Finance.

Banco de Chile

Banco de Chile, headquartered in Santiago, provides a broad array of financial products and services to corporations, large companies, SMEs and individuals. It offers deposit and lending products, international and treasury banking, securities brokerage, mutual funds, investment management, insurance and financial advisory services. Banco de Chile operates an extensive network consisting of 400 branches and 1,460 ATMs.

Scotiabank Chile

Scotiabank Chile is one of the major banks in Chile. It employs over 6,000 people and has a network of approximately 130 branches and 270 ATMs from Arica to Punta Arenas. The company operates as a subsidiary of Canadian The Bank of Nova Scotia. In 2018, Scotiabank completed the purchase of a majority stake in BBVA Chile.

Itau CorpBanca

Itau CorpBanca S.A. (NYSE: ITCB) offers deposit and loan products, credit cards, insurance, online and mobile banking, asset management and other services to retail and business customers. It has international offices in Panama, Colombia, Peru and Spain as well as branch in New York. It is owned by Brazilian private lender Itaú Unibanco Holding S.A. and Corp Group.

Bicecorp

Bicecorp S.A. is a large financial services group in Chile. It provides a wide range of products and services through the following subsidiaries: Banco BICE (Banco Industrial y de Comercio Exterior), BICE Inversiones, BICE Vida, BICE Factoring, BICE Hipotecaria, BICE Securitizadora, and Crediautos, among others. In the second quarter of 2023, Bicecorp's revenue and net income were CLP 599 billion and CLP 75 billion, respectively.

Consorcio Financiero

Consorcio Financiero S.A. is a major Chilean financial group providing banking, insurance and investment services through its banking unit Banco Consorcio and other subsidiaries. The company was established in 1986 and is headquartered in Santiago.

Grupo Security

Grupo Security S.A. is a Chilean financial services company providing banking products and services to retail and corporate clients through its subsidiary Banco Security. It offers deposit and lending services, credit and debit cards, mortgages, life and general insurance, pension products, factoring and leasing services, asset management, securities brokerage, financial advisory and other services.

BBVA Chile

BBVA Chile was one of the leading banks in Chile with total assets of over CLP 14 trillion. In July 2018, BBVA Group closed the sale of its stake in BBVA Chile to Canadian lender Scotiabank. BBVA Chile was renamed Scotiabank Azul.
