List of U.S. Insurance Companies
The U.S. insurance market is a complex and diverse system that offers a broad range of insurance products to individuals, businesses and other organizations. It is divided into two main segments: the personal insurance market, which includes life, health, auto and homeowners insurance; and the commercial insurance market, which includes property and casualty, liability and workers' compensation insurance. The insurance industry in the US is characterized by a high level of competition. There are many large and well-established companies that dominate the market as well as many smaller, specialized firms that cater to specific segments of the market. The industry is heavily regulated at the state level, with each state having its own set of laws and regulations governing the types of insurance products that can be sold. Currently, there are approximately 6,000 insurance companies in the United States. Following is incomplete list of U.S. insurance companies.
