HSBC Holdings plc is the largest bank in the UK by total assets and market capitalization. The company employs over 215,000 people and serves about 41 million customers through approximately 2,650 branches in 60 countries and territories across Europe, North and South America, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. HSBC’s main business segments are commercial banking, global private banking, retail banking, wealth management and global banking and markets. As of September 30, 2024, HSBC Group reported total assets of $3.1 trillion, customer loans of $969 billion, customer accounts of $1.7 trillion and shareholders’ equity of $193 billion. HSBC shares are traded on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), with a market capitalization of $168 billion at November 1, 2024.
