Coventry Building Society is the UK’s third largest building society in terms of assets. It has more than 2 million members, 2,700 employees, over 60 branches from Abingdon in the South to Sheffield in the North and 15 agencies in the South West of England. It also has an ATM network comprising branch and remote ATMs. The society offers a range of financial products including mortgage loans, savings accounts, tax-free cash ISAs, bonds and online services. Coventry Building Society was established in 1884 by Thomas Mason Daffern, a local bookkeeper. In the first half of 2024, the company reported pre-tax profit of £159 million, total assets of £63 billion, mortgage balances of £47 billion and retail savings of £49 billion. Coventry Building Society is rated by Fitch and Moody's. Long-term issuer credit rating assigned by Fitch is A- (high credit quality).
