Principality Building Society

Principality Building Society (PBS), headquartered in Cardiff, is the largest building society in Wales and the sixth largest in the United Kingdom. With about 530,000 members, it provides an array of mortgage and savings products including tax-free cash ISAs, flexible deposits, children’s accounts and fixed rate bonds. It also offers home and life insurance, prepaid funeral plans, online services as well as solutions for commercial property funding. The society doesn't offer current accounts and Lifetime ISA or LISA. The mortgage products are only available on properties in England and Wales. In 2023, the society helped more than 8,130 people to buy their first home. Principality was established in 1860 and today employs around 1,200 colleagues in 53 branches and 15 agencies across Wales and the Welsh borders. In the first half of 2024, Principality Building Society reported net profit of £16.8 million, total assets of £13.5 billion, retail mortgage portfolio of £10 billion and retail savings of £9.9 billion.
