Earl Shilton Building Society (ESBS) is a small mutual organisation based in Leicestershire, a landlocked county in the East Midlands. It provides a diverse range of savings and mortgage products, online services as well as estate planning advice through Accord Legal Services Ltd. There are no tied insurances with the Society, however, buildings insurance is required. As of March 31, 2024, Earl Shilton Building Society had profit for year after tax of £0.54 million, total assets of £180 million, loans and advances to customers of £141 million and shares & borrowings of £166 million. Founded in 1856, Earl Shilton is one of the oldest building societies in the United Kingdom. Today, ESBS has over 15,000 members and 39 employees. ESBS is a participant in the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).
