National Counties Building Society

National Counties Building Society (trades as Family Building Society) is a UK mutual organisation headquartered in Epsom, Surrey. It provides a wide array of mortgage and savings products, insurance and online services to around 60,000 members throughout England and Wales. The company was founded in 1896 and today employs approximately 185 people (FTE). In 2014 National Counties launched the Family Building Society. From December 2016, all new mortgages are only available through Family Building Society brand. For the year ended 31 December 2023, the society reported statutory profit before tax of £17 million, total assets of £2.48 billion, loans and advances to customers of £1.99 billion and savers’ share balances of £1.8 billion. National Counties is a member of the Building Societies Association (BSA).
