Teachers Building Society

Teachers Building Society (TBS) is a British mutual financial organisation providing residential mortgages, savings products and online services to teachers, education professionals and non-education customers across England and Wales. The society deals directly with members and via intermediaries. Teachers Building Society was established in 1966 when the National Union of Teachers (NUT) acquired London Scottish Building Society. Today, the company has approximately 11,000 members and employs about 80 people. For the year ended December 31, 2023, TBS reported profit before taxation of £1.15 million, total assets of £420 million, overall funding balance of £391 million, shares and customer deposits of £354 million and customer loans of £318 million. New mortgage lending for the year was £72 million.
