Following are the biggest asset managers in the world based on total AUM. BlackRock, an American investment company founded in 1988, ranks first in the list with more than $7.3 trillion in assets under management. Vanguard Group is the second largest asset manager in the world, with funds under management of $6.1 trillion. The company was established in 1975 by John Bogle and today employs over 17,000 people in the U.S. and worldwide.
